PREFACE

In 2010, we enjoyed many tourist activities in Grand Teton National Park including cruises on Jackson Lake, a float trip down the Snake River, a gondola ride to the top of Rendezvous Mountain and many wonderful hikes.  However, we still had not done everything we wanted to do so we decided to return again to Wyoming in 2011.  This time we would be working in the outdoors at Colter Bay Village on the far northern end of Grand Teton National Park.

The plan for 2011 was to travel a more northern route and visit family in Indiana.  We then played tourist as we continued west through Iowa, South Dakota and then into Wyoming visiting Mount Rushmore, for the first time.

This year we both had jobs where we could walk to work which was a treat.  Paul worked in the RV Park and Ann worked in the Campground.  Our motorhome was parked in an employee campground at 6800 feet above sea level.  Our neighbors included Ron and Karen from California and Dick and Sheri from Wyoming, friends we worked with during the summer of 2010 at the Jenny Lake Store.  We enjoyed several days off with both couples.

We also found time to "give back" to the community as we volunteered to pick-up trash for the National Park Service and we served as "cooks assistants" for a fundraising project in the town of Jackson where top restaurants provided samples of their signature dishes.

This blog was done as a way to share our experiences with our friends and family.  Hopefully, you too will someday want to visit the Tetons.  We hope you enjoy our journey.
